AWW - Pariah Dog

An interview with Stefan K, Founder of Pariah Dog

Pariah Dog are a small and intimate shelter that is a favourite amongst our flyers. Founded by the friendly and amiable manager, Stefan K, this shelter is well kept, clean, homely and gives street dogs a loving place to call home while they recover from trauma and await new, forever homes.

They pledge to rescue, to rehabilitate and to re-home as many of these poor souls, as possible, and with your help they can really make a difference not only to the lives of these amazing animals, but to the streets of Koh Samui.

If you could be one of your dogs for a month, which dog would you be?

Nani, she’s my “own” dog, rescued from an other Rescue on the Island. She knows her advantages and is doing what she wants!

What rescue memory is a highlight that cheers you up on the hard days?

Always the feeling (when you have the opportunity) to save a dog from struggling and suffering.

The moment you feel when the dog is with us and safe!

What's your biggest challenge right now?

As most of the time, but due Corona we are lacking of donations.

What should people know if they are considering before adopting from abroad?

That these dogs are the most beautiful creatures on earth. Most of them have a strong character and are not just usual pets.

What is a common misconception people have about what you do?

Especially in the area adoption and sending abroad, they often think we want to make money. It’s not a business for us, it's to give the dogs a chance for a good home.

What would you most want others to know about the plight of stray pets and pet rescue/adoption that they may not already know?

These dogs are coming from a different world, everything for them is new and strange. It needs often a lot of time till they really at feel home.

How can readers help you with your mission?

Support in any kind of area. Donations, volunteering, talking about us. Feedback where we can improve.
